Own Brand Intern – Sustainability and Packaging

The Own Brand Team is part of the Trading department. The team is made up of Head of Own Brand, Own Brand Manager, OB Operations and Own Brand Development Team. This position would provide valuable work experience to a student including the opportunity to develop communication, organisational, reporting and inter-personal skills. You will experience the process involved in creating Own Brand Vs Branded goods

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • As part of the Musgrave sustainability objective to reduce plastics by 50% we are looking to recruit an intern who can support this sustainability business agenda.
  • Support the Own Brand sourcing process E2E to achieve the reduction outcomes (e.g. specify packaging improvements as part of Tender & Supplier Selection Process and govern outcomes).
  • Ability to review legislative changes to ensure Musgrave are compliant.
  • Research best in class packaging & keep OB team up to date with latest packaging news and trends.
  • Manage annual packaging reduction plans and progress reporting.
  • Work alongside product developers/technologists on packaging data sheets and packaging selection.
  • Liaise with packaging expert/consultant on team packaging guidelines, information and training.
  • Communicate Musgrave packaging targets with suppliers and continue engagement on sustainable packaging through the Sustainability Hub

 

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • studying a third level qualification in a Food/Marketing related discipline.
  • Ideal candidate to be highly organized and have an ability to work well as part of team as well as being able to work on own initiative.
  • Strong MS Excel skills essential
  • Team player and good at Multitasking
  • Flexible /Ability to prioritize and manage various requests
  • Work in a fast paced environment
