Maintenance Technician

Working across Northern Ireland, supporting stores and store managers with ongoing maintenance for the company’s property, equipment, and assets. To provide support to the Property and Facilities Manager in the arranging of maintenance work to our Company Owned Company Operated stores, Cash and Carry stores and other buildings as required.  This would be achieved through the carrying out of these tasks or sourcing and arranging for specialist contractors to carry out the works.

Area of Responsibility: Maintenance

Key Activities:

  • Responsible for the carrying out of routine maintenance works, as required
  • Working from a preferred supplier list of specialist contractors, management of contractors and onsite works
  • Working with the Property and Facilities Manager to manage the annual maintenance budget
  • Co-ordinating tender process for larger projects and obtaining and comparing quotes and costs
  • Working with Property Administrator to ensure detailed weekly updates on all maintenance works

Success Measures:

  • Ensuring all maintenance requests are dealt with within the agreed SLA
  • Competitive rates agreed with contractors to minimize costs where possible
  • Maintenance work completed in a timely fashion at each store location
  • Maintenance costs within annual budget
  • Suitable contractors appointed and managed effectively for completion of larger projects

Area of Responsibility: Administration

Key Activities:

  • Process request for maintenance from stores on online Remedy request log programme.
  • Maintain Remedy request log and ensure it is kept as accurate and with as much detail as possible
  • Emailing for detailed updates on jobs and attendance at weekly meetings 
  • Help obtain quotes for approval by others

Success Measures:

  • Fully compliant with Musgrave’s purchasing process
  • No Breached calls on Remedy request log – all jobs completed in line with SLA
  • Proven traceability of all works and requests risen

Essential

  • At least three years previous experience in a maintenance role and/or working with external contractors
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of dealing with contractors and or suppliers
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain cross functional working relationships
  • Can do attitude with the ability to embrace change
  • Ability to use email and Microsoft programmes               

Desirable

  • Health & Safety qualifications
  • Trade qualifications
  • Project Management
  • Knowledge of the grocery convenience retail sector
  • Previous working knowledge of online maintenance programmes
  • Trade Skills such as electrician/plumber/joiner
  • Previous experience working with Deli/Kitchen equipment and or refrigeration/air conditioning units.
